Change the Equation Recognizes ULA for Leadership in STEM
Washington, D.C., (May 16, 2014) – United Launch Alliance (ULA) signed on to Change the Equation’s (CTEq) Commitment to Excellence in STEM, joining a collective chorus of business leaders in championing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) literacy.
In signing the Commitment, ULA, a member of CTEq, has reaffirmed the value it places on STEM literacy for all young people in the U.S. ULA and other Commitment signatories have publicly signed on to sustain a national movement ensuring STEM literacy among all high school graduates. The Commitment stresses the corporate community’s pledge to collaborate with each other as well as programs and communities; high expectations for all students; data-driven advocacy for STEM; and the availability of high-quality STEM learning programs in communities across the country.
ULA and other Commitment signatories will be recognized at an event today, May 16, in Arlington, Va.
“We applaud United Launch Alliance for its role in making universal STEM literacy a reality,” said CTEq CEO Linda P. Rosen. “The public declaration of support for the Commitment and the actions that will ensue from the corporate community recognizes that STEM literacy is a transformative life-skill that impacts the future success of our young people and the ability of our nation to remain a leader in innovation.”
